Ayla has always been an outcast in the Cancer pack. Beaten, shunned, and treated as less than—especially by her own father, the Alpha—because of her half-human heritage. With the Convergence approaching, she dares to hope her life might finally change. A wolf of her own. A mate. A real place to belong.

At first, it seems like everything is falling into place. She manifests a stunning white wolf, and the Sun Witches reveal her fated mate—even if it’s someone she despises. None of that matters once the bond is recognized. Until he rejects her. And his pack slaughters hers.

After fleeing the massacre, Ayla is captured by the Alpha of the Ophiuchus pack—feared like ghosts in childhood stories—and offered revenge. But there’s a price. She must become bait.

This book has been sitting in my TikTok screenshot TBR for ages, and I’m so glad I finally picked it up. The opening is brutal—Ayla’s abuse is front and center, especially at the hands of her father. The emotional damage runs deep. When we find out that the only person who has ever been nice to her is her friend Mira and half brother Wesley and he seems to know something about Convergence I completely thought that some secret was going to come out that they're not actually blood and are mates. Was fully prepared for a taboo read. But, no.

At Convergence, the hostility continues, and Ayla wanders into the woods—where she encounters the mysterious Ophiuchus pack. What follows is betrayal, bloodshed, and escalating violence. And honestly? I loved every second of it.

I have serious suspicions about the Sun Witches. From Ayla’s first interaction with them, something feels off. It seems like they’re manipulating more than the packs realize, and I’m waiting for that reveal. And then there’s Kaden.

Broody. Grouchy. Cold to the world but fiercely protective of his own. The moment he shifts from prickly to possessive alpha? Swoon. You can feel the inevitability of their bond, even though Ayla is technically already mated. The tension between fate and choice is delicious.

This book ends on a cliffhanger, and I need the next installment immediately. Ayla deserves better than an abusive mate. We want obsessive devotion—not cruelty.
