Book Review: Betrothal by Mande Matthews

Image result for Betrothal by Mande Matthews    Guinevere is at the age where she must marry. But she will not get a choice in this, no matter how much she just wants to be left alone. A prince has come to call on her but he has brought his armies with him. Her options are to marry him or watch her country fall to ruin. That is until the brave Prince Arthur and his Knight Lancelot come to their aid with their soldiers. Now Guinevere must choose between the Prince who will uphold the old practices of her country if she chooses him, or the newer ruling styles of Prince Arthur. Will Guinevere choose the one who saved her, the one who will maintain her countries old practices, or will her heart end up belonging to someone else entirely?
A new insight into Guinevere instead of told from King Arthur's perspective. From this point of view more of her choices that she makes later on in life that we all know the age old story of make sense. So far the decisions made in the story closely resemble those that we know from our stories that have been told and retold. I hope you enjoy this little story just as I have.

Book Review: Leven Thumps and the Whispered Secret by Obert Skye

Image result for Leven Thumps and the Whispered Secret by Obert Skye    Leven is now in Foo and must work with Winter and Clover in order to restore Geth to his previous self. Now that Sabine is gone it should make things much easier for them. If not for Jaboon. The rant has now taken Sabine's place and nothing will stop him from his quest to merge reality with Foo. Their quest will take them through most of Foo and separate them; hopefully Fate can help them along the way. If not all of Foo could lose the fight against the darkness.
One of my favorite fantasy series so far. So much fantasy and reality mixed in together it is like a whorl-wind but thankfully it never deters from the plot. I want to know what the old woman said to Tim Tuttle the first time. We find out what she said the second time but no idea of the first time. Beyond that I love how no matter how dire things get Obert always ends the book on a bitter-sweet note. Giving you a warm feeling for a moment before snatching it away and making you need the next book. Thankfully I have the entire series. If you are a fan of teen fantasy then you will love this. Just keep in mind this is book 2 so start with 1 or you will miss so much!

Book Review: Assigned a Mate by Grace Goodwin

Image result for assigned a mate by grace goodwin    Eva is being sent to another world in a kind of witness protection through inter-stellar brides in order to keep her safe while they prepare for the trial that will put a murderer behind bars. Sadly this means that during this protection she must pretend to be a murderer in order to speed her placement with a mate along. How bad could it be? But when she meets Tark all of her deepest desires are brought to life. Stupid caveman.
This book is an amazing roller-coaster from start to end. You jump right into a hard-core sex scene that is sadly just an erotic in detail dream and it just gets better from there. If you are a fan of a somewhat controlling males who give their females some control but punish when they are bad this is a book for you. Enjoy if you dare!

Book Review: Old as Time by Liz Braswell

Image result for Old as Time by Liz Braswell    Belle is the pretty little bookworm in a simple little town where nothing ever changes. She lives with her father, the odd inventor, and has almost no memories of her mother. Too bad the town pretty boy hunter wants her as his wife and she could care less about the dull-minded brute. When Belle's father goes the wrong direction when going to the fair and their horse brings her back to the castle Belle gives her life for her father's. The Beast is complicated but who wouldn't be after her own mother cursed him when he was just 11. Together can they break the curse or will they just make it worse?
Absolutely love love love this spin on the old tale of Beauty and the Beast. Adore the dark parts and Mrs. Potts actually acting like a woman would in her situation. And getting to know so much more about all of our favorite characters. Everything about this story will entrance you and have you wishing to know what happens next. What happens to Belle and the Beast after you the last page has been turned and the book closed. If she ever writes a book 2 for this I will own it and read it in a heartbeat. Truly a great story that you will not want to put down. Looking forward to reading her other renditions of classic Disney stories.

Book Review: Resounding Truth by Kate Thomas

Image result for Resounding Truth by Kate Thomas   Dru mated to to the Alpha's brother, Seth, so that she could get out of having to mate the man who killed her father. Now that Seth has also died there is nothing to stop her from being taken by the Alpha, except possibly the white wolf savior that her sister has seen in her dreams.
Another short story. At least this one gives us some closure on some questions. Not all questions mind you but some of them. We know who Dru ends up with, what happens to Derrik and Seth, and who the Huntress is. This is actually a decent short story instead of leaving the reader hanging it has a beginning, middle, and end.

Book Review: Courage Runs Red by W.J. May

Image result for Courage Runs Red by W.J. May    After a car crash Kallie's father has not quite been the same. Somehow during their crash he was turned into a vampire. Good thing her mom is a nurse or things would be so much worse for them. He has never drank from a human before and that makes him special and very sought after. Although it is not pleasant. Kallie will stop at nothing to make sure that her father is safe. Even if that means trusting another vampire, this one a hot detective, in order to do it.
Another of those annoying little short stories where they break one book into multiple "books." Again, if you are a fan of those then have at it. Otherwise steer clear. Other than that major annoyance this is a good story. Just leaves you with a lot of unanswered questions and no closure whatsoever. It is like they ended the book at the end of a chapter.

Book Review: Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton

Image result for Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton    Hammond has completed a truly remarkable feat. He and his team of scientists have brought dinosaurs back from the past. They will be the world's greatest theme park. Could you just imagine walking around the legs of a giant herbivore or view a T-Rex devour a goat before your very eyes. What could possibly go wrong? Well when a greedy computer programmer shuts down the electricity and gates they are about to find out just how wild the Jurassic era was.
Dr. Grant and Dr Stattler as archaeologists who are finally seeing something that they can hardly even fathom. They can see the merit in the idea but can also agree with Malcolm, the mathematician, who states the park is bound for certain destruction. When the grid goes down they must find a way to survive the very dinosaurs they have studied for most of their lives.
First off this book is so much better than all of the movies combined. Although I can't help picturing the actors portraying the scenes within the book rather than the actual characters described. None the less the book is amazing and actually goes into detail about how the dinosaurs were made and how we achieved the needed level of science. Truly an amazing book and I cannot wait to start book two; which is currently on my desk.
