Book Review: Protecting Shaylee by Elle Christensen

Image result for Protecting Shaylee by Elle Christensen    Shaylee has been told fantastical stories about faeries her entire life by her father until he is murdered then she files them away to be treasured but never taken out and examined. Then when the man who broke her heart returns and says that she is a fairy herself she doesn't know what to think other than he is crazy and she is going to have nothing to do with him.
Aden watched Shaylee grow from a baby to the most beautiful woman he has ever known and when he starts to fall for her he leaves and asks for a new assignment. While away he convinces himself that it was just lust but one look at her again and he knows shes meant to be his. Now to convince her he will never leave his beautiful little fae again....
This is an interesting portrayal of the fae. Having them wingless and living in a society very similar to ours. I love the story but there are some points in the book where the author talks directly to the reader saying "Don't even think you haven't." and different things like that after a character has done a particular action or had a wayward thought.

Book Review: Darkness of Light by Stacey Marie Brown

Image result for darkness of light stacey marie brown    Ember has never really fit in with her one yellowish green eye and one luminous blue eye and weird things that always seem to happen around her. Her seeing things that weren't really there is really just icing on the cake. Therapists think that it is because of finding her mother's mutilated corpse but how does that explain all the other horrible things that happen around her?
Eli is the head of a biker club all sexy and mysterious but for some reason he must be bipolar as he is constantly running from hot to cold towards Ember. One second he hates her and the ground she walks on and the next he is kissing her senseless. What could be going on with him to make him so crazy?
Be it with Eli or Torin something is definitely going on and there is more to this than meets the eye. if only someone would tell her what she is and what she has to do with any of this than maybe she could do something productive. Join Ember in the battle to find out who she is and hopefully find a little love along the way.
I hope that Ember finds out all of the secrets of her past and maybe can even do good as well as the harm that she can inflict. Maybe more than just destroying she can use her connection to nature to build things. A city made out of trees and vines would be pretty cool. If the next book is as good as this one it will be worth a read.

Book Review: A Grizzly Kind of Love by Georgette St. Clair (Mating Game book 3)

Image result for mating game book 3    Wynona has owned the Mating Game agency for the past 2 years and had multiple successes in finding others their mates. Just because her marriage went down in a ball of flames with the cheating lowlife didn't mean she couldn't make others happy. But it seems her ex isn't through ruining her life just yet. Seems he has put her signature on some documents to sell a beachfront swampland to some very snooty individuals who are now blackmailing her into civilizing their nephew and making him mate-able.
Zane is a feral bear shifter who was left alone in the woods for 15 years after his parents were killed during a family hunting trip. His Aunt and Uncle are wanting to marry him off for their gain to someone with a shopping list for a heart. A marriage of convenience. But first he must get through three weeks of etiquette courses with Wynona.
When Zane fights her every step of the way demanding a date for each new item he must master the sparks start to fly and the murder attempts on their lives only bring them closer. Can Zane and Wynona end up being each others perfect match? A feral bear and a interfering wolf?
I'm so glad that Wynona got a book. She was in both of the first two. I even like the little part they included about her manager and the assassin but am so glad that there isn't a whole book to them. Somehow a book of sarcasm going over their heads and correcting everyone's grammar seems more like a torture session than a romantic story. Older woman who meets an amazing man after a horrible relationship ends. What could be cuter. I hope you guys enjoy this book in the Mating Game series as much as I did.

Book Review: Big Bad Wolf Mating Game Book 1 by Georgette St. Clair

Image result for big bad wolf mating game    Daisy has been told her whole life by dates and by her mother that she is too heavy and that she will never find a respectable man who will love and be attracted to her. So her mother has taken it upon herself to set her up with the son of the pack leader for the neighboring pack. Too bad the jerk cheated on her and she will never in a million years marry him.
Ryker is a public bad boy ex-boxer whose entire pack is mortgaged to the hilt and must impress his investors in order to avoid loosing everything. So when his uncle sets him up at a mating agency to impress said investors he is in a tight spot. Good thing the chick is a curvy goddess...
For once a book about a chick who isn't a size 2. However the description for most of the book makes her seem really big only to find out she is a size 18. I'm a size 16 so 18 isn't huge but curvy in all the right places with just a little pouche. It made her more relatable to find out that she isn't huge and that she isn't a tiny thigh gap girl. It was a really nice change of pace. The down home country boy helped too. For anyone looking for a sweet empowering story that will make you feel comfortable in your own skin pick up this book and get lost in the story of Ryker and Daisy.

Book Review: Dating a Dragon by Georgette St. Clair (Mating Game Book 2)

Image result for dating a dragon mating game series    Orion has decided to take a mate. She doesn't have to love him only be beautiful, smart, have a degree, be a dragon, and be fertile. She doesn't even have to stick around to raise the children once they are hatched. He just wants children. Sadly there are only so many female dragons that are fertile. Maybe the Mating Game mating agency in oklahoma can help him....
Cadence is a shifter whose father was a dragon and mother was a wolf. Thankfully she got her mothers genes and turns into a wolf. Or at least she used to but not she doesn't know anymore. Now she must register with the dragon mating facility to basically pimp herself out to potential dragon mates. As if her life couldn't get any worse...until her best friend gets a deliciously horrible idea about a dragon male that came to the Mating Game earlier today.
Lovely book from start to finish. I started listening to it yesterday while cleaning my son's room and didn't stop listening to it until it was finished. I realized a little too late (as in when the book ended) that it was not book one. Luckily it is only book 2 and book 1 is already qued up on my audio-books. I may already know what the end game is but all the details is what makes a book worth reading anyway. Dating a dragon is really amazing. It is about polar opposites who couldn't be more right for one another. Sometimes what makes us different is what can also bring us together for the better. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have.
