Book Review: Rule by Jay Crownover (A Marked Man Book 1)

Image result for rule a marked man book 1    Rule had always been a bit of a rebel and wild child. Where his twin, Remy, was mellow and soft Rule was loud and boisterous. But when Remy died their parents expected him to step in and become his brother. He rebelled more, only coming home when his brother's insufferably perfect woman, Shaw, forced him to.
Except Shaw didn't belong to Remy and never had. Her heart had belonged to that pigheaded brute, Rule, since they day Remy brought her home at 14. Too bad he had never looked at her as anything other than his brother's girl. Especially since they had only ever been friends.
After throwing herself at him while drunk on her birthday he knew just how must she and Remy weren't a couple. And now he couldn't get Casper out of his head. But more importantly could his little ghost be finding her way into his heart?
In some cases opposites attract and someone you've spent your whole life wanting is more than you ever hoped for. During this book I spent time mad at almost every character and even a bit of time mad at someone who was dead. They have to fight everyone, including their own parents. And in my opinion Gabe got off too easy, but I'll let you make that decision yourself. Either way this is definitely a great book to lose yourself within.

Book Review: The Novice by Taran Matharu

Image result for the novice by taran matharu    Fletcher is a blacksmith apprentice and an orphan in the small town of Pelt. When he is given a book it changes his life. With a few spoken words this little no-one now has a demon and the ability to become so much more. When he is admitted into Volcans he gains the opportunity to hone his newfound abilities, make friends, and maybe save the empire.
This was a book that was suggested to me by a dear friend of mine and I have to admit that I was skeptical as I am not generally a fan of teen fantasy. But this book had me flipping through the pages and needing more. With demons, battles, magic, ork wars, nobles, elves, and dwarves it's like Harry Potter meets World of Warcraft. I am going insane with the thought that I will have to wait 2 weeks for the next book in the series to be available for me to check out from my library.

Book Review: Lynx on the Loose by Georgette St Clair (Timber Valley Pack Book 4)

Image result for lynx on the loose    Dashiel Battle is a wolf shifter who has been chasing after the little Lynx shifter, Isadora, since she moved to town as she constantly gets in trouble and he has to constantly lock her up at the jail. But now they have found that she is helping humans get blood vials from the shifters in the town as well as are planning to capture a wolf shifter. Could the troublesome prankster really be committing high treason instead?
When she goes on the run Dash must chase after her and try to find the truth before it gets even worse. But could the conflict that has always been between the two really just have been a feeble attempt to keep each other away?
Bad girl falling for the good guy is always a favorite of mine. Especially since she is smart and sassy and while she did always have everything handed to her in life she is still a relatable character. Loved this book from start to finish and while I haven't read most of this series in order it is fun to pick out other characters in the story that you know has a book later on and know just what happens to them. Like little Virginia that was mentioned in this book briefly is in a book that I have previously reviewed. All in all Georgette St Clair has done it again with the Timber Valley Pack.
