Review Policy

Hello, my lovlies. This was not something I ever thought I would get to the point of doing, but I have been getting so many requests to read and review books. It is so amazing! That being said I am always getting asked what genres I read and do reviews for. So, the best policy is to just go ahead and outline it and put it in a place where anyone can see it.
Let's start out with the books that I will read. I read Horror, Romance (all, except multiple partners), Young Adult, Science Fiction, Crime Fiction, Fantasy, LitRPG, VR, and Psychological Thriller. Honestly, it is a bit easier to state what I don't read. I don't review nonfiction, religion (excluding polytheism), politics, poetry, graphic novels, short story collections, graphic novels, battles with depression/anxiety/loss (unless part of a bigger picture and not the whole focus of the book), and children's books.
I may occasionally get a children's book for my son, but the review will likely not make it onto the blog as it will just be a brief statement as to if my son liked the book or not. He is 6 and has a short attention span.
Now, for submissions. You can contact me on most any social media. I am on Twitter, Instagram, FaceBook, and here on my blog. There is a contact form on my blog that is easily accessible and I check my email and Twitter constantly. I try my absolute best to respond within a few hours, but two children can be a handful. I am very sorry if it takes me a bit longer to respond. When you message me please send me a blurb of your book and/or a link for your book on Amazon. This should be a reader blurb. Not what you would send a potential publisher. If it tells me everything that happens in the story it will ruin the mystery and I will turn it down. Most all of the books I purchase myself are from Amazon.
About my lists! I have a long list that is growing every day of books for me to read and review. While I am a fast reader it may be a while before I get to your book if I like it. I beg for your patience. I have different lists. I have 4 lists at current.
    1. eBooks that I am sent by the author. This can be in any electronic format such as .mobi, pdf, or whatever you prefer. I have apps that can open them all. There is also the option of sending a Kindle redemption code for an eBook which is fine as well.
    2. Audiobooks that I am sent by the author. This one is pretty cut and dry. An audible redemption code for the audiobook.
    3. Physical books I am sent by the author. I am a bit biased towards this one and genuinely love it. If you elect to do this option if at all possible I would LOVE for you to sign the copy of the book and it will be added to my ever growing indie author shelf. I also take pictures of the books which you are welcome to use in any way that you would like.
    4. Last but not least is the list of books for me to buy. I will eventually purchase the books that are on this list, however I am not sure how long it will take me to purchase your book if it is added to this list. With everything going on in the world right now there hasn't been a lot of book buying in my life.
On to my process! When I get to your book in my list, should it be selected, I post frequent updates on the book on Twitter. This can be something as simple as a reading update or a snippet from the book. When you contact me if you have a Twitter feel free to include your Twitter handle. I will follow you! It would also me most appreciated if you could include a link to your book on Amazon as well we to your personal site, if you have one. I will include these links in the blog post once it is live. When I post a review it is posted to Amazon (pending Amazon approval- sometimes they deny reviews for some reason), GoodReads, BookBub, and my blog. There will also be links to view my blog posted to Twitter, Instagram, and FaceBook. I do my absolute best to have all reviews posted within 6 months of the date I receive the book.
I hope this answers everyone's questions. If not feel free to message me! I love talking to authors and readers alike. Once again, you are all so amazing and thank you so much for all the support!

If you would like to follow any of my social medias I will post them below so they are all in a central location. I post on Twitter most often, but links to my blog or the review itself goes on all the sites. Pinterest is still a work in progress so please bear with me on this platform.

  2. It is very nice to get a reader's perspective. A group of writers on Twitter support each other but what I often feel is missing is we are connecting with each other but not readers. I'm a relatively uncommon group member, as I have historically written for magazines and all of my books, bar one, are non-fiction. I am known in astronomy circles, so get some readership there.
