Book Review: Wanted by Shelby Haisley

Wanted: The August Havens Chronicles, Book 1     August was a perfectly normal 15 year old girl until her parents died in a car crash. Since then the CIA have been chasing her as she is the missing piece that they have been working on. She soon escapes with the help of a friend of her fathers, Aaron, who is ex CIA. They then team up with Jace, a 19 year old inventor, who is also on the run from the CIA. Together the trio must escape the United States and make it to Switzerland in order to find out the answers to her parents secrets, which have been left in a safety deposit box. Just how far would you go for the trust and just what would you be willing to do?
This is a Young Adult book that does not answer all of your questions in one as it is part of a series. That being said, it was not done in the wrong way, and gave the reader plenty to dwell on during these pages. The story itself is decent, although it took me a while to get through with this pregnancy. All in all this is a decent escape the government book that shows some promise.

Book Review: Lover Awakened by J, R. Ward (Black Dagger Brotherhood Book 3)

Ever since Bella was taken by the Lesser's Zsadist has been unable to sleep. Who knows what has happened to her or if she is even still alive. That is until with her help a civilian escapes the Lesser's hold and tells the Brother's of her location. Once Zsadist has freed her he takes her back to their compound and into his room where he can best care for her. Bella is so beautiful and an aristocrat while Zsadist...well he was an escaped Blood Slave turned Brother with a giant scar on his face and is so damaged he can't stand to be touched. He doesn't stand a chance.
That being said Bella is inexplicably drawn to him and has been mooning over him for months. No one else will do, not even his very willing and attractive twin, Fury. Bella has decided she wants this male and not even his past can keep her from him. But, can Zsadist move past his past in order to have a future? Or is it true what his brother says, that Zsadist isn't damaged; he is broken? If he is truly that damaged then will he be able to convince Bella that Fury would in fact be a better match for her?
This book had the set up to turn me off of it and the rest of the series fast and I am so glad that Ward didn't travel that path as I truly love the Dark Dagger Brotherhood series. As anyone who reads my reviews for any period of time knows there are some types of romances that I don't read. One of which is multiple partner romances. If this book would have went that way it would have unfortunately been my last. Based on the fact I am an hour into book 5 I think that answers that question.
Zsadist was my favorite character since book one. The dark, dangerous male that didn't seem to have any humanity left in him and everyone was afraid of? Yes, please. Now that I know his past and his story I love him all the more. This is truly a male that has been damaged on the inside and the out. Sometimes, with some people, they don't need someone to fix them. Instead, just someone to show them that they love them and that they aren't going anywhere.
As always I love J. R. Ward and right now it is the only thing I am reading as with all of the issues I have been having with my pregnancy audio-books are about all that I can handle. I can just put in my wireless headphones and lay down, since that is basically all I am able to do anymore. This book is available on Amazon for $7.99 at https://amzn.to/33icCLh.
