Book Review: Protecting Shaylee by Elle Christensen

Image result for Protecting Shaylee by Elle Christensen    Shaylee has been told fantastical stories about faeries her entire life by her father until he is murdered then she files them away to be treasured but never taken out and examined. Then when the man who broke her heart returns and says that she is a fairy herself she doesn't know what to think other than he is crazy and she is going to have nothing to do with him.
Aden watched Shaylee grow from a baby to the most beautiful woman he has ever known and when he starts to fall for her he leaves and asks for a new assignment. While away he convinces himself that it was just lust but one look at her again and he knows shes meant to be his. Now to convince her he will never leave his beautiful little fae again....
This is an interesting portrayal of the fae. Having them wingless and living in a society very similar to ours. I love the story but there are some points in the book where the author talks directly to the reader saying "Don't even think you haven't." and different things like that after a character has done a particular action or had a wayward thought.
This book is available on Amazon for $3.99 at https://amzn.to/3g0lzgi.
