Book Review: Brainwalker by Robyn Mundell and Stephan Lacast

Brainwalker: A young adult science fiction adventure - Kindle ...     Bernard is a middle school student with little impulse control trying his best to find a science project. The problem is that his teacher absolutely refuses to listen to any of his ideas and when he moons the class he gets expelled. Luckily his dad is a scientist working on an atom-smasher. The perfect way to learn more about wormholes, his idea for a science experiment. But, when he gets too close he is transported into another world, yet it's not. Instead he is inside his father's head and must determine a way to save his father from his own left-brained thinking. Can he save his father before the clock runs out on both he and his father's lives?
This is a great young adult read that is easily enjoyable by adults as well. The book has a lot of scientific facts in it and you are absorbing knowledge in a fun and entertaining way. The story is an exciting mix of old world alchemy and forging with new world structure set in a current setting. This book has a couple of spots where the authors contradicted themselves with their character, Ogdin, but all in all it was a great read. For anyone who is looking for a fast paced Young Adult novel this one will be one that is sure to keep you on your toes!
