Myrbeth was born in a town that was soon after completely destroyed. Only her mother escaped with her clasped tightly to her breast. Taking her to a neighboring king's court she was taken in as her mother died from her wounds. She grew up with the king's sons, but she has now come of age that she must marry. With most other kingdom's refusing what will happen to her?
I received a physical copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I loved the cover on this book.
This book is mostly an opener or introduction to the series. It gives you background on the main characters, has romance aspects, and shows how others treat Myrbeth. We learn about the war against the kingdoms and witness the first battle. This book absolutely ends on a cliff-hanger with most of the main story still to be covered.
While this was a starter book it was interesting and I enjoyed the characters. The solution to problems with Myrbeth were obvious long before anything was even admitted in the book. I would absolutely read more in this series and by this author in the future.
No real trigger warnings in this YA read. It is set in a mythical kingdom, but as mythical kingdom, but as far as I know it is not a fantasy. obviously, there is a war, bloodshed, and betrayal so there are those if you consider them triggers.
This book is available on Kindle Unlimited or buy it on Amazon for $2.99 by clicking here.
