Book Review: Dogs by Mike Sullivan

Tom had been gone for too long. After his mother's accident he just hadn't been able to come back home. Once in the last 5 years, but a text from his dad letting him know she was gone changed all that. He drove through the night getting home to a dark house. Once inside, something was going on. A message left on his mother's talking machine began a precursor to his worst day: Something is wrong with the dogs.

I received a physical copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is a horror/thriller short story. I wouldn't consider it a book and it is hard to give an honest review without spoiling everything that happens. The dogs have went insane, killing seemingly everyone. We follow a man as he arrives in an area, is attacked, watches other attacks, and attempts to get some children to safety while forming hypothesis' along the way.

This story definitively had the thriller aspect and was great at drawing the reader in. I will say I absolutely almost stopped reading it. I will not under any circumstances read child death/murder, but we were good in this case.

I don't know if this is a precursor to a bigger story by this author that is still in the works, but I would absolutely read something else by them that had more substance to it.

This story is available on Kindle Unlimited or buy it on Amazon for $3.99 by clicking here.
