Book Review: Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost (Night Huntress Book 1)

Halfway to the Grave: A Night Huntress Novel by [Jeaniene Frost]     Catherine Crawford is the result of a date rape of a newly made vampire and her mother. Since her mother told her about this at the age of 16 it has been her goal to rid the world of as many blood-sucking murderers as possible. She has taken down over a dozen when something doesn't go to plan. Bones, a master vampire, bests her and makes her a deal. If she can beat him then she can kill him. If not, she has to kill vampires for him. After-all, it is a very lucrative business when they anger certain people.

At first it isn't so bad. He is hard on her, but she is getting stronger and playing to the strengths that she has as a half-vampire. The main problem is the more she gets to know him the more she realizes that maybe all vampires aren't bad. Especially a certain Brit. Will the truth behind vampires be enough for her to change or will what happened to her mother color how she sees the species forever?

I downloaded this book on impulse from an app called Libby as an audiobook using my library card and can honestly say I don't regret that decision for a moment. The book is fun to listen to and I am sure it would be just as much fun to read yourself. It is a book that you can easily get lost in and even though the book is over I find myself wondering how the characters are doing and what will happen with them in the future. I will eventually be looking for the next book in the series as there needs to be questions answered. There is so much potential at the end of this book for more in the future and I hope for good things.
