I
downloaded this book after having read the prequal. I haven’t read anything
else within this series, so I may be missing quite a bit and just not know it.
But, since I don’t I don’t feel like I was walking in blind to this story. It
works well as a stand-alone and I didn’t really see any background characters
in relationships or anything that would spoil reading more in the series.
I have
mentioned it before, but for those that are new here I really like the best
friends to loves trope. Although I feel like this book also covers the second
chance romance aspect considering he did disappear for years without a word
only to pop back up again. So I am going to consider it second chance as well.
I don’t
love that he lied by omission for so long into the story, but I am glad that it
worked out in the end. This is an open door romance, just in case you have any
problems with that. That being said, there is much more plot to the book than
spice. I loved all of it and will definitely be reading more in the future by
this author.
